AAPE by A Bathing Ape® was born in 2012. Offering the youth customer of BAPE a more dynamic choice. AAPE opened specialized stores in Tokyo, Beijing and Hong Kong at the same time in 2012. Relying on the spirit of challenging and seeking breakthroughs by paying meticulous attention to product details, AAPE has established 70 branches around the world in just 6 years (including China, Japan, Dubai, and the United States). In 2017, it opened the first U.S. specialty store in Los Angeles Fairfax, a mecca for street culture trends. The AAPE design elements are inspired by American street culture, and can be distinguished by it’s moon face logo. AAPE now offers a range of apparel products in menswear, womenswear and accessories.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for all store opening and closing duties including reporting to management and deposit preparation
Support the retail management team to drive sales and profitability as well as delivering exceptional customer brand service
Coach and motivate team to deliver the best customer service, improving their product and brand knowledge through utilizing cross-training methods
Perform all cashier duties and monitor accuracy of cashier staff
Complete daily checklist tasks and store operational requirements by scheduling and delegating team tasks, follow up on work results
Understanding and achieving store KPI’s, analyze sales figures and overall store performance, suggest new initiatives for improvement
Ensuring operational policies and procedures are respected, using initiative to coordinate and enforce programs where appropriate
Manage and ensure availability of stock, monitoring stock levels, make key decisions regarding stock control
Maintain awareness of market trends in the fashion retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what local competitors are doing
Consistently manage housekeeping, shop floor cleanliness and visual standards, ensure team effort is implemented in meeting company standards
Frequently required to stand. May be required to crouch, kneel, lift and/or move up to 50lbs, climb ladders as needed
Personal qualities & qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in fashion retail
Proven record of good leadership skills and experience
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities
Solid understanding of retail math (including, but not limited to; analyzing sell through, mark-up, gross margin etc.)
Exemplary customer service skills and good record of meeting sales KPI’s
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Team player and committed to contributing towards a positive work environment and culture
Consistently punctual and reliable
Able to be flexible with work schedule (expected to work weekends and evenings)
