As the Assistant Reservations Manager in the Central Reservations Department for Jean-Georges Management, you will be part of a dynamic team accountable for securing reservations for multiple key venues. Your key responsibility will be to support in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Restaurant Reservations Team, while also performing reservationist functions. You will work to accommodate client requests in a timely manner, overseeing bookings, and guest database, handling large parties and the process of taking, recording, changing, and canceling reservations, and supporting various administrative and clerical functions.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Role Details
- Performs a supervisory role to the reservations team on a day-to-day basis
- Supports the Reservations Manager in generating reports and analytical data through Resy and Zoom calling to help maximize restaurant booking potential
- Supports the Reservations Manager with the dissemination of crucial information to all relevant teams
- Perform the reservationist function by handling reservations, cancellations, and a variety of inquiries received from guests, and redirect these inquiries to the restaurant as needed
- Handles all guest situations with care and critical thinking and delivers exceptional service consistently and anticipates guests’ needs
- Manages the maximization of the bookings by delivering a warm & friendly, yet efficient reservations service
- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and responds well to questions
- Develops a complete working knowledge of the menus
- Assists in other F&B departments as needed
- Operates ethically to protect the image of the Company
- Maintains a good working relationship with others by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working climate
- Demonstrates flexibility and patience; possesses an interest in people
- Maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal and medical information from guests that are shared
- Monitors office supplies and inventory
- Can carry up to 30 lbs
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Technical Knowledge
The Assistant Reservations Manager must possess a working knowledge of the systems used within our company. In particular, the Reservations Supervisor must be proficient in the following:
- Communication and telephone skills
- Attention to detail
- Food knowledge & Beverage knowledge
- POS System
- Resy
- Avero Knowledge a plus
Problem Solving and Judgement
The Assistant Reservations Manager is always proactive, seeking out potential problems before they arise. Consistent decisions must be made which are in the best interest of the guest and the operation. The Assistant Reservations Manager is alert to all aspects of the dining operation throughout the shift and knows when to seek assistance from Management to resolve guest concerns.
The base pay range for this position is $22-$25/hr. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- Two years+ maitre’d, senior reservationist or leadership experience in fine dining setting preferred
- Basic PC & Microsoft knowledge and comprehension (Word & Excel)
- Basic math knowledge and comprehension (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages)
