As a Reservationist for Jean-Georges Management, you will be part of our Central Reservations Department securing reservations for multiple key venues of the Jean-Georges portfolio. Your key responsibility will be to manage the day-to-day operation of Restaurant Reservations and to accommodate client requests in a timely manner, oversee bookings, and guest database, handle large parties and the process of taking, recording, changing, and canceling reservations, and support with various administrative and clerical functions.
SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Role Details (not all-inclusive)
- Efficiently and accurately handle reservations, cancellations, and a variety of inquiries received from guests, and redirect these inquiries to the restaurant as needed
- Responsible for maximizing bookings by delivering a warm & friendly, yet efficient reservations service
- Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations and responds well to questions
- Develops a complete working knowledge of the menus
- Assists in other F&B departments as needed
- Deliver exceptional service consistently and anticipate guests’ needs
- Operate ethically to protect the image of the Company
- Maintain a good working relationship with others by promoting teamwork and fostering a harmonious working climate
- Demonstrates flexibility and patience; possesses an interest in people
- Maintains a high level of sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal and medical information from guests that are shared
- Helps train new department team members
- Can carry up to 30 lbs.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested
Technical Knowledge
The Reservationist must possess a working knowledge of the systems used within our company. In particular, the Reservationist must be proficient in the following:
- Communication and telephone skills
- Attention to detail
- Food knowledge
- Beverage knowledge
- POS System
- Resy
- Avero knowledge a plus
Problem Solving and Judgment
A Reservationist is always proactive, seeking out potential problems before they arise.
Consistent decisions must be made which are in the best interest of the guest and the operation. A Reservationist is alert to all aspects of the dining operation throughout the shift and knows when to seek assistance from Management to resolve guest concerns.
COMPENSATION
The base pay range for this position is $20/hr to $22/hr. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid within the range depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment history/job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
