Responsible for greeting guests at the door. The host/hostess seats and presents clean menus to guests in a friendly, professional and quick manner.
Primary Functions:
- Establish and maintain standards of a 5 star service.
- Greet and seat guests, present menus to guests, inform them of daily specials.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Welcome guests in a proper manner.
- Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
- Greet incoming and departing Guests warmly with a genuine smile and eye contact; escort them to assigned dining area; present menus; announce waiter's name.
- Inform Guest of current promotion.
- Answer incoming calls to the restaurant and provide appropriate service.
- Treat all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed guests' expectations.
- Take names on a waiting list.
- Manage the flow of Guests into the Dining and Bar areas, provide accurate wait times to incoming Guests if appropriate.
- Observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty and occupied tables.
- Take guest information and quote wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available.
- Clean, organize and stock menus at host area.
- Answer phone and answer questions concerning the menu and restaurant.
- Interact with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience.
- Fill to-go orders, if applicable.
- Tend to special Guest needs and requests.
- Help dining room staff by setting and clearing tables; replenishing water; serving beverages.
- Issue dining charges by verifying orders; calculating taxes; totaling bill for to-go orders.
- Receive payments by validating credit charges; approving checks; accepting currency; calculating and issuing change for to-go orders
- Fill in for absent staff as needed.
- Assist with special events as needed.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform other duties as requested by Management.
