Daily tasks include but are not limited to:
Issue uniforms and linen to staff according to systems and the procedures laid down by the hotel management.
Take inventory and control movement of soiled, damaged and fresh linen and uniforms.
Operates and monitors washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, including adding chemical and cleaning lint traps.
· Washes, dries and folds hotel towels.
· Identifies stained or damaged items and determines status for repair, spot treatment, rewash, or discard.
· Inspects cleanliness of articles removed from the washer, dryer, or dry cleaning machines and place in clean linen carts.
· Sets dryers to designated times and temperatures based on fabrics contained in load.
· Removes lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain trap after each load.
· Folds cleaned articles into designated size.
· Maintains accurate records of items laundered.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Customer Service Skills and good Communication Skills.
· Physical mobility and stamina required.
· Good listening skills.
· Attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent time management skills.
· Ability to multitask and prioritize.
· Ability to remain calm under pressure.
· Ability to handle guests’ complaints.
· Neat and clean appearance.
· Flexible to work schedules to include morning/evenings/night, as well as weekends and holidays.
· Being a team player and ability to successfully pass on information from one team member to another.
· Ability to follow instructions.
· Ability to work independently.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to be standing/mobile/stationary for at least 7 hours a day, 35 hours a week.
· Periodically fast paced strides are required to go from one part of property to other.
· Must regularly lift/carry/move 50 pounds of force.
· Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
· Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb is required.
· Must be able to hear and speak clear to communicate with guests and employees.
