Summary of Position: The Prep Cook is responsible primarily for preparing and maintaining the hot and cold food stations. Prepare food items in accordance with production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment. Assure highest quality of the Department by working in an efficient and conscious manner, as well as, maintaining and developing the highest service standards possible.
Required Skills/Qualifications:
· Proven experience as prep cook.
· High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset.
· Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food productions techniques.
· Thorough knowledge and understanding of kitchen equipment use and operation.
· Familiar with industry’s best practices.
· English Language fluency.
· Communication Skills.
· Attention to detail.
· Ability to multitask.
· Ability to function in a noisy, hectic and crowed environment.
· Ability to remain calm under pressure.
· Attention to cleanliness and safety.
· Responsible & trustworthy.
· Stamina: you will spend the majority of time on your feet and will have to lift heavy objects.
