il Buco Alimentari & Vineria opened in 2011 as a casual dining offshoot of il Buco, and has since earned a 3-star review from the NY Times. We specialize in house-made salumi, breads, pasta, and pastries, offering ambitious and inspired employees the opportunity to train at several different stations, learning multiple skills. The Alimentari Counter staff works in the market and acts as the face of the Store - driving sales, organizing and marketing products, slicing charcuterie and cheese, and passionately teaching customers the basic knowledge of real food. This position acts as the bridge between the culinary team, FOH service team, and retail team. This position also has tremendous growth potential and is an excellent way to gain invaluable experience with a much celebrated restaurant group. We are willing to train the right person and are excited to do so!
1-2 years experience in Food & Beverage hospitality
Available to work weekends and holidays
Sales experience
Experience with Italian cuisine
Experience with knife skills and deli slicers preferred.
Experience in cheese shop, deli/market places preferred
Experience with Micros POS or other restaurant POS systems
Excellent communication skills
Able to maintain a professional yet welcoming and friendly demeanor at all times
