We place the utmost importance on customer service and consistency in quality, which requires all team members to pay close attention to detail at all times. Employees are expected to go above and beyond to ensure that every customer has the best cafe experience possible. This is a full time position that requires a flexible schedule and a minimum availability of 5 shifts a week, which can range from opening to closing.
Employees will be asked to take on a variety of tasks in order to keep the cafe running at its peak condition. Tasks will mostly revolve around cleaning and keeping the cafe organized. You will be working in a high intensity and fast paced work environment. Applicants must be able to handle stressful situations with grace, speed, and a smile.
Although this is an entry level position, there is a lot of potential for advancement into other positions. We are specifically looking for people that can make a long-term commitment to grow with the company. Previous experience in the specialty coffee industry is not necessary. We welcome anyone dedicated to learning a new craft with a passion for customer service.
We're looking to bring on a Lead Barista who is hardworking, trustworthy, detail oriented, and passionate about all things food, beverage, and hospitality. You will be the in-house expert in all aspects of Interlude; such as coffee, tea, matcha, operations, cleanliness, and hospitality.
As lead barista, you will be in charge of training all of our new employees while continuing to work with our current team members. You will ensure everyone is meeting our high standards of quality through a continual reinforcement of our operational procedures. In addition to educating our team on all things coffee and tea, you will mentor and guide them on how to provide stellar hospitality to our guests. You will foster an environment that is passionate about customer service while developing your team to grow and pursue excellence. We believe a clean environment is a crucial component of a good customer experience and you will guide your team to keep cleanliness as a top priority.
On top of your standard barista duties, you will be an instrumental part in the development of training/education guides that we’ll use to train our team. You will lead one-on-one training sessions and group educational classes. You will keep the cafe operating smoothly by performing cleaning and maintenance of our equipment as well as the troubleshooting and handling of minor repairs as needed.
