Interlude Coffee & Tea is a minimal cafe in Tribeca serving specialty coffee, matcha, tea, and in-house baked pastries. We place the utmost importance on customer service and consistency in quality. All team members are expected to be detail oriented and always go above and beyond to ensure that every customer has the best cafe experience possible.
We're looking to bring on a manager who is hardworking, trustworthy, creative, detail oriented, empathetic, and passionate about all things food, beverage, and hospitality. Managers will be asked to take on a variety of tasks in order to keep the cafe running at its peak condition. Your day to day will involve having to think quickly on your feet and doing whatever it takes to solve any issues with creative solutions. You must be physically and mentally equipped to working in a high intensity and fast paced environment with grace, speed, and a smile.
A positive and collaborative workplace is an essential element of working at Interlude. As a manager, you will be responsible for fostering this type of environment by constantly engaging with your team to develop and challenge them to grow and be their best.
We are specifically looking for an applicant that can make a long-term commitment to grow within the company. This is a full time salaried position that will at times require you to work overtime during store hours in order to cover shifts or be on call to handle unexpected incidents. Managers will be expected to spend most of their time working on the floor to maintain high standards of quality and have a constant connection to our team members and guests.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all ordering including coffee, milk, inventory, etc.
- Identify ways to reduce store costs and streamline operations
- Monitor and report on cost of goods and payroll reports
- Be able to handle minor repairs, maintenance and general upkeep
- Oversee scheduling of staff
- Hire and provide extensive training to employees throughout all the areas of the cafe
- Oversee processing of online, catering, and special orders
- Full knowledge of standard protocols of health inspection
- Oversee the day to day operations and delegating tasks to employees accordingly
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with employees by understanding and addressing individual needs, motivations, and concerns
- Ensure that staff adheres to legal and operational compliance requirements
- Lead and inspire staff by providing constructive feedback and encouraging their growth
- Ensure that all the little details are looked after and customers are provided the best service and quality each day
