Little Island’s seeks a Park Supervisor to join the leadership team of the Park Operations department, a dynamic team of collaborative and motivated individuals who collectively care for the park and its visitors. Reporting to the Park Operations Manager, Park Supervisors drive onsite decision-making and park-wide communication to ensure Little Island’s standards of safety, accessibility, and hospitality are maintained. They support the Park Operations Manager in the day-to-day oversight of Little Island’s Custodians and Park Attendants, building trust and collaborating with team members directly in the field, providing frequent feedback and encouragement. Supervisors will collaborate across all departments at Little Island, especially with the facilities, horticulture, and security personnel, to ensure all staff are aligned, informed, and supporting each other to deliver an excellent park experience each day.
The ideal Park Supervisor is a galvanizing collaborator and leader who is excited to work outdoors and provide support to a diverse field team. Park Supervisors are equally passionate about the caretaking of our beautiful facility and the ongoing support of staff who work primarily onsite at the park. They have an understanding and comfort with safety and emergency response protocols, with the ability to remain intentional and grounded in our values while making decisions under pressure. Candidates who can converse in multiple languages (including but not limited to Spanish, French, Mandarin, American Sign Language, etc.) are encouraged to apply.
3+ years’ experience in leading a public-facing team; experience in public, outdoor, and/or artistic spaces preferred
Effective communication and collaboration skills
An intentional approach to decision-making and conflict resolution, with experience demonstrating good judgement and remaining grounded in dynamic scenarios
Ability to transport, move, and utilize park equipment weighing up to 50 lbs., as well as move materials, furniture, and equipment into various positions within the park
Valid NY driver’s license with clean driving record required
Possession of OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
Ability to work in US
