Associate Director, Sustainability
Exciting Opportunity at MSK
We are seeking an Associate Director, Sustainability, to join our team. In this role, you will serve as a key leader responsible for developing the strategy and priorities for the department, while managing the team that directly implements projects, programs, initiatives, technologies, procedures, and measurements that create short- and long-term value for the organization. You will work directly with executive leadership and other departmental leaders to collaboratively educate, deliver training, optimize and standardize best practices and solutions to ensure goal attainment of sustainability efforts that improve operational performance, institutional cost savings, and positive brand recognition.
Role Overview:
- Maintains responsibility for the overall planning and operations for the Sustainability Department.
- Partners with Leadership across MSK and accountable for the design, organization, communication, prioritization, direction, and implementation of Sustainability goals, strategies, and efforts.
- Leads the Sustainability Department in developing and refining all related strategies, projects, programs, initiatives, technologies, procedures, goals, metrics/measurements, and performance.
- Oversees the lifecycle of project/program management plans, identifies project/program priorities, and provides direction and support to teams and individuals for various sustainability projects/programs.
- Supports existing functions and enables best value outcomes from the execution of strategic projects, programs, and initiatives.
- Obtains, analyzes, and manages internal sustainability data and reporting responsibilities, including the annual MSKCC sustainability report, sustainability dashboards, and maintenance of internal and external webpages to engage prioritized stakeholders.
- Leads, facilitates, and/or acts as key liaison and subject matter expert on all sustainability committees focused on the successful development and completion of strategic projects, programs, and initiatives within specific areas of the organization.
Key Qualifications:
- 4-7 years of project management related experience.
- Corporate sustainability management and reporting experience.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills including researching, developing, analyzing data
- Proficiency in Microsoft software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

- Ability to effectively engage and integrate the efforts of individuals at all levels of the organization.
- A good decision-maker, with shown success at making timely decisions that keep the projects moving forward.
- Ability to clearly present complex information in oral, written and electronic formats to groups of all sizes and areas of expertise.
- Willing to act and eager to adopt new opportunities.
- Adept at building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and goals.
- Skilled in getting acceptance & buy-in on new ideas at all levels.
