Job Description:
Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We are currently seeking an experienced Lab Technologist II for our Hematology Laboratory.
Role Overview:
- Perform technical duties in laboratory sections, with minimal supervision, as assigned.
- Maintain complete, accurate, legible, neat, organized, and up-to-date records/logs/files.
- Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory's Standard Operating Procedures. Perform routine and advanced equipment maintenance.
- Contribute to the upkeep and safety of the laboratory and assures a clean, safe, adequately supplied work area. Maintain adequate inventories of reagents and supplies. Manage the physical environment of the laboratory following New York State DOH, Joint Commission, OSHA, and CLIA regulations.
- Provide direction, training, and feedback on routine laboratory procedures, as assigned.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (Medical Technology, Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences) required
- Current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist License required
- Two years of relevant work experience in Hematology strongly preferred but recent graduates with a clinical license will be considered
Core Skills:
- Ability to perform dilutions and laboratory calculations
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong digital literacy including working with databases
Additional Information:
- Schedule: Night shift position, 12am-8am
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- 100% onsite
- Location: 327 E 64th Street in NYC
- Reporting to: Manager, Laboratory Medicine - Hematology
