Job Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to lead an outstanding team of Advanced Practice Providers in Interventional Radiology. The APP division of MSK is comprised of over 900 Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) who are dedicated to delivering compassionate, comprehensive cancer care. It’s the expertise, creativity, dedication, and generosity of spirit of the people of MSK at the heart of our success!
Role overview:
This APP manager will oversee the APPs that cover the Main and Mobile IR team and IR clinic. This manager will provide APP oversight for operations that include triage and management of patients undergoing IR procedures, provide moderate sedation, APPs who perform paracentesis, thoracentesis, and line removals, and IR clinic visits. You'll also:
- Provide leadership to NPs and PAs in the interventional and mobile interventional radiology teams in alignment with the vision, mission, values and goals of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK)
- Develop and foster relationships with multiple counterparts and key partners including physicians, nursing and administrative staff
- Cultivate an empowered and engaged work force committed to clinical excellence, quality care, and service to patients and families
- Maintain clinical responsibilities within a designated practice specialty
Key Qualifications:
- Current NYS RN and NP license/registration or Current NYS PA license/registration
- Prescriptive privileges (or you are eligible)
- 3+ years’ experience as an APP required (Mobile IR, IR) including experience with procedures like paracentesis and thoracentesis
- Leadership experience in a Mobile or Interventional Radiology setting preferred, but an APP setting required
- Previous involvement in Projects, Committees, Quality Improvement
- Related national certification required
