Job Description:
Exciting Opportunity at MSK:
We are seeking an outstanding Technologist to join our clinical NGS laboratory. The candidate will perform sophisticated molecular profiling tests for patients with solid tumors and hematological malignancies. The candidate is encouraged to be familiar with amplicon- and/or capture-based NGS assays. The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and operating automated liquid handlers.
Role Overview:
- Perform complex technical testing as outlined in approved SOPs. This includes NGS library prep, target enrichment, and sequencing.
- Work with the laboratory supervisor to review/troubleshoot procedures and work assignments.
- Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’s Quality Control SOPs.
- Participate in the Proficiency Testing Program and inspections, as assigned.
- Participate in the laboratory inventory program that provides adequate inventories of reagents and supplies.
- Have the opportunity to assist with the design, assessment, and validation of new clinical NGS based assays.
Key Qualifications:
- A BS or BA with at least 2-4 years of experience in NGS-based assays.
- Strong organizational and troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail and accuracy, and outstanding communication skills.
- NYS clinical license required.
