Job Description:
Quality Control Laboratory Technician, CTCEF
The QC Technician will perform the necessary testing to enable the release of cell therapy products manufactured at the Cell Therapy Cell Engineering Facility (CTCEF). Additionally, the role involves monitoring cell therapy products in patient samples post-treatment. The QC team collaborates closely with several internal and external teams to ensure the reception and processing of QC samples.
Role Overview:
- Perform various assays; Cellular (e.g. Viability, flow cytometry, cytotoxicity, cell growth based assays), Molecular (e.g. DNA extraction, PCR, Southern Blot, QPCR, ddPCR), and Biochemical (e.g. endotoxin, mycoplasma, ELISA).
- Ensure all sample testing is completed promptly, meeting both Release and Quality timelines.
- Provide immediate notification of abnormal test results and assay failures.
- Prepare all QC sample Material Transfer Document forms as needed for delivery to in-house and third-party labs.
- Provide support during the patient infusion process.
- Prepare the necessary paperwork as per cGMP guidelines.
- Assist with writing and revising standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Contribute to writing deviation and non-compliance investigations.
- Assist with the validation process and assay improvements.
Key Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of laboratory experience or a master's degree is required. Hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques such as QPCR, PCR, DNA extraction, and cell culture is essential.
- Experience in a clinical laboratory or a controlled therapeutic manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- The ability to work proactively and independently, and to follow through on tasks and projects.
- Action-oriented and eager to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency, high energy, and enthusiasm.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and relevant office applications.
