The Library seeks an experienced security professional for the position of Library Investigator. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing investigations of alleged criminal and/or other conduct which has or may result in a negative impact on the Library. This includes employee or nonemployee criminal behavior as it relates to the Library as well as conduct which violates Library policy.

Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Manager of Branch Investigations & Security Services:
- Provides field security investigations for incidents involving any crimes or violations of NYPL rules and regulations committed on library property.
- Prepares records, incident reports of activities and investigations.
- Visits Branch Libraries, conducts security surveys, and collaborates effectively with the library managers and other library staff.
- Assists in the supervision of contractual guard services to insure compliance.
- Must be available to respond to emergencies after hours and available for security coverage at Library functions after hours.
- Skilled in the use of Security Technology.
- May be required to work at any Library facility.
- Collaborates effectively with the NYPD and other city agencies.
- Performs related duties as required.
