Location: Johnson City, NY
Schedule: On-site | Full-time or Part-time Considered
Compensation: $24.00-$30.00 per hour

Role Overview
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys owning a broad range of accounting responsibilities while also supporting payroll, benefits administration, and employee records.
You will be working directly with the owners to keep financial operations organized, accurate, and running smoothly. The role combines accounting, payroll, and HR administration, with accounting representing the majority of the workload.
This position may be a good fit for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in maintaining accurate records, and prefers the environment of a smaller organization where their work is visible and meaningful.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly close activities.
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure information is organized, complete, and readily accessible.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
- Process payments and deposits and maintain customer and vendor account records.
- Reconcile bank, customer, and vendor accounts.
- Process weekly payroll and timesheets.
- Administer employee benefits, including tracking and maintaining benefit-related records.
- Support HR administration, including onboarding documentation, employee files, background check coordination, and employee record maintenance.
- Work with the CPA during year-end financial processes.
- Maintain both digital and physical filing systems for financial and personnel records.
- Communicate professionally with employees, customers, vendors, and business partners.
- Protect the confidentiality of financial and employee information.
Required Qualifications
- Accounting degree from a two-year or four-year college program.
- Experience working in an accounting role within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience handling core accounting responsibilities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close activities.
- Experience processing payroll.
- Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day oversight.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Professional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting employee benefits administration or HR-related administrative functions.
- Experience working with payroll systems such as PAYCHEX or similar platforms.
- Experience preparing financial reports and supporting year-end accounting activities with an external CPA.
- Experience working in a small business environment where employees take ownership across multiple functions.
