Accounting Manager

Compensation: $150,000 + Discretionary Bonus

- Technology Platform, Data Analytics, AI. PE Backed.

- Hybrid. This company has been fully-remote since covid. The plan is to move back to some days in office, but nothing is concrete yet. Assume at least hybrid down the road. Office in Midtown. Hours are 9:00AM - 5:30PM.

- Role sits directly under the Controller.

- They use NetSuite (must have).

- Outside of GL accounting and Periodic Close, this role is tilted to AR workflow, as they rely heavily on contract alignment and U.S. GAAP (ASC 606) compliance.

- This company lives in the Data that's derived from Financial Services, Digital Advertising, Streaming Services (CTY), and more. They have a proprietary AI Data Platform as well.

Responsibilities:

Monthly Close and General Ledger

• Own the month-end close process
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare and review journal entries
• Identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Contract Review and Revenue Recognition

• Review client contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and ASC 606
• Maintain documentation for revenue policies and contract interpretations
• Support monthly revenue close, including deferred, accrued, and revenue schedules and reconciliations
• Maintain historical revenue records and ensure accuracy across prior period revenue activity
• Support external audits by preparing schedules and documentation

Accounts Receivable and Collections

• Manage aging analysis, cash application, and collections processes end-to-end
• Monitor past-due balances and proactively engage clients to resolve outstanding payments
• Oversee collections escalation paths and manage all related communications
• Partner with Sales, Account Management, and Legal to resolve billing disputes and/or contract-related matters
• Prepare and send all client invoices based on internal reports, contract terms, and/or agreed-upon billing schedules
