Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will own the daily accounting operations for a luxury catering business, managing month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, budgeting support, treasury, tax compliance, and audit coordination. This person will lead a team, maintain strong internal controls, and serve as a key financial partner to operational leadership as the company continues to grow.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage month-end/year-end close: journal entries, accruals, prepaids, inventory reconciliations, GL maintenance
- Prepare and review balance sheet and P&L reconciliations, intercompany reconciliations, and foreign currency valuations
- Prepare monthly financial statements, management reports, and quarterly/annual reporting packages
- Lead mid-year and annual audits, including pension plan audits; coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors
- Ensure timely annual filings (Franchise Reports, statutory requirements) and file Sales Tax Returns
- Submit required financial reports to airport authorities
- Oversee treasury functions: daily cash management, cash flow forecasting, banking relationships, liquidity management
- Oversee full AP and AR functions, including invoice review/coding and use tax compliance
- Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting; partner with business leaders on financial performance analysis
- Assist with 401(k)/pension plan financial statements and ensure accurate, timely contribution submissions
- Support insurance renewal process and related financial reporting
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA preferred
- 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a management/leadership capacity
- Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, with hands-on experience in financial reporting, internal controls, and audit processes
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and tax compliance
- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP/accounting systems
- Strong communicator, comfortable partnering with operational and executive leadership
