Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: $74,000 – $79,000 per year
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance with SAP Eligibility

Position Overview
We are seeking an Air Surface Operations Analyst (ALO / JTAC / AO) to support GREEN FLAG exercises at Fort Irwin, CA. In this role, you will serve as a tactical air-ground integration subject matter expert, supporting Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) and Air Support Operations Center (ASOC) operations during realistic U.S. and coalition training exercises.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide TACP and ASOC subject matter expertise in support of GREEN FLAG exercises and the 57th Operations Group.
- Support air-ground operations during training events, with a focus on TACP and ASOC operations.
- Participate in exercise planning, execution, and After-Action Reviews (AARs).
- Use the Air Tasking Order (ATO) and Master Air Attack Plan (MAAP) to:
- Track tasked missions.
- Monitor missions available for tasking.
- Support mission planning and execution.
- Process both immediate and pre-planned DD Form 1972 Tactical Air Strike Requests (JTASR).
- Operate and troubleshoot tactical radios, including systems requiring COMSEC/cryptographic loading.
- Manage and update web-based systems with current ASOC operational information.
- Adjudicate Battle Damage Assessments (BDA) and support mission reporting.
- Coordinate with Airspace Command and Control to:
- Deconflict fixed-wing aircraft with Army aviation.
- Deconflict air operations with counter-fire missions.
- Track active Restricted Operating Zones (ROZs).
- Create Close Air Support (CAS) ROZs for inclusion in the Airspace Control Order (ACO).
- Provide area-of-operations and assigned airspace updates to inbound fighter aircraft.
- Receive and process mission results and bomb damage assessment information from outbound fighter aircraft.
Required Qualifications
- Prior experience serving as one of the following:
- U.S. Air Force Air Liaison Officer (ALO)
- Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC)
- U.S. Marine Corps Air Officer (AO)
- Active Secret clearance and SAP eligibility.
- Hands-on experience processing JTASRs / DD Form 1972.
- Experience supporting Close Air Support (CAS) and joint air-ground operations.
- Ability to multitask effectively and work as part of a team in a fast-paced training environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience as a JTAC.
- Completion of the Joint Firepower Course.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA).
