Position: Men's Apparel Designer
Contract Duration: approx. 6 months
Hours: 9-6 (with some flexibility to adjust for commute if needed)
Equipment (laptop, etc): must have own laptop
Software/Tools: Adobe Creative Suite, Flex PLM
Onsite Dress code: Smart casual
Team Overview: Reporting to head of lifestyle design, and interacting closely with technical performance design. Interacting with product development day to day and product merchandising team, tech team. Working closely with technical team.
Job Overview: Focused on the lifestyle portion of the men’s apparel (not tech performance): Tops and bottoms, knits and wovens. They are in a deadline period; they are in the thick of it to putting tech packs into Flex PLM so at onset it would be heavy on that end.
Required Functional Skills/Tools:
- Strong knowledge of men’s lifestyle product – knowing how things are constructed, differences between knits and woven, etc. Needs to be familiar with tops and bottoms.
- Experience with Flex PLM
- Illustrator
- Openness to flexibility within the role. They are a leaner team, and they all have to be able to pivot and adapt. As much as we would love to define our roles, someone that is open to flexibility and changing on the day to day is important.

Position Description:
We are seeking a Temporary Apparel Designer to support the Men’s Apparel design workload. This role will
partner closely with the Design Director and cross-functional teams to maintain seasonal development progress
from concept through production.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-
• Support seasonal apparel design development
• Create and maintain accurate tech packs and style information in Flex PLM.
• Partner with Materials, Costing, and Merchandising teams by initiating and developing fabrics, trims, and
prints that achieve costing and aesthetic goals for the season.
• Research domestic and global markets to identify new seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, techniques,
product categories and competitive inspiration
• Partner with Design Director to align on fit intent; clearly communicate direction to Technical Design.
• Communicate design updates and development needs clearly to cross-functional partners.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative environment, with the ability to juggle
multiple seasons at one time and track development deadlines
• Strong communication skills, elevating development challenges with a problem-solving approach.
• Possess an elevated sense of style, aesthetic, and color and understand how to translate trends through
the lens of the customer and brand filter
• Strong knowledge of silhouette, fit, fabrication, construction, sewing techniques, and trim applications
QUALIFICATIONS-
• Apparel design experience, preferably in men’s apparel or lifestyle/active categories.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication, color, trims, and production process.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; InDesign a plus.
• Experience with Flex PLM preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and deadline-management skills.
• Ability to jump in quickly, take direction, and support business needs during a temporary coverage
period.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-
• 7+ years of applied experience working as an Apparel Designer.
• Degree in Apparel of Product Design
• Strong understanding of garment construction
• Advanced Adobe Programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign etc.) skills required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other basic computer programs.
• Experience with Mac.
• Strong knowledge of Flex PLM.
