π° OTE: Approximately $150,000
Are you an experienced commercial construction professional who understands both the field and the financial side of project operations?
We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support a busy commercial waterproofing operation in New York. This is a highly visible role focused on project coordination, financial tracking, WIP/PDP reporting, job costing, change orders, billing, and construction administration.
You will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Accounting, Estimating, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to keep projects organized, financially accurate, and moving toward successful closeout.
What You'll Do
β Coordinate project startup, scheduling, manpower, materials, and closeout
β Support WIP/PDP reporting, job costing, forecasting, and project financial reporting
β Maintain accurate contract values, change orders, billing, costs-to-complete, and margins
β Support review of project profitability, committed costs, open POs, and forecasts
β Manage project setup and WBS configuration within the ERP system
β Support purchasing, work orders, project costing, and month-end financial activities
β Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, purchase orders, and closeout documentation
β Assist with monthly billing, pay applications, schedule of values, retainage, and invoice backup
β Coordinate with GCs, owners, architects, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams
β Support material procurement, deliveries, inspections, site access, and field coordination
β Track compliance documentation including lien waivers, insurance, certified payroll, safety documentation, and warranties
β Help ensure projects remain organized, financially accurate, and on schedule through closeout
What We're Looking For
β 5+ years of commercial construction or specialty contracting experience
β Experience with WIP/PDP reporting, job costing, forecasting, and financial project management
β Strong understanding of construction contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, POs, billing, pay applications, and closeout
β Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents
β Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
β Excellent organization, communication, follow-up, and attention to detail
β Experience with waterproofing, roofing, restoration, faΓ§ade, or concrete restoration is a plus
