Are you an experienced commercial construction professional who understands both the field and the financial side of project operations?

We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager to support a busy commercial waterproofing operation in New York. This is a highly visible role focused on project coordination, financial tracking, WIP/PDP reporting, job costing, change orders, billing, and construction administration.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Accounting, Estimating, subcontractors, vendors, and customers to keep projects organized, financially accurate, and moving toward successful closeout.

What You'll Do

βœ” Coordinate project startup, scheduling, manpower, materials, and closeout

βœ” Support WIP/PDP reporting, job costing, forecasting, and project financial reporting

βœ” Maintain accurate contract values, change orders, billing, costs-to-complete, and margins

βœ” Support review of project profitability, committed costs, open POs, and forecasts

βœ” Manage project setup and WBS configuration within the ERP system

βœ” Support purchasing, work orders, project costing, and month-end financial activities

βœ” Coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, contracts, purchase orders, and closeout documentation

βœ” Assist with monthly billing, pay applications, schedule of values, retainage, and invoice backup

βœ” Coordinate with GCs, owners, architects, consultants, vendors, subcontractors, and field teams

βœ” Support material procurement, deliveries, inspections, site access, and field coordination

βœ” Track compliance documentation including lien waivers, insurance, certified payroll, safety documentation, and warranties

βœ” Help ensure projects remain organized, financially accurate, and on schedule through closeout

What We're Looking For

βœ… 5+ years of commercial construction or specialty contracting experience

βœ… Experience with WIP/PDP reporting, job costing, forecasting, and financial project management

βœ… Strong understanding of construction contracts, change orders, RFIs, submittals, POs, billing, pay applications, and closeout

βœ… Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents

βœ… Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills

βœ… Excellent organization, communication, follow-up, and attention to detail

βœ… Experience with waterproofing, roofing, restoration, faΓ§ade, or concrete restoration is a plus
