Position Summary
The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing evening warehouse operations, ensuring efficient product flow, inventory accuracy, and team productivity. This role supports the Warehouse Manager in executing daily operations across receiving, put-away, replenishment, and shipping while maintaining a strong focus on safety, labor efficiency, and operational performance. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented leader with experience in high-volume warehouse environments, capable of managing teams, optimizing workflows, and driving continuous improvement initiatives during shift operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field preferred
- 4+ years of experience in warehouse operations, distribution, or logistics
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience in a warehouse environment
- Strong understanding of inventory control, receiving, and shipping processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
Key Responsibilites
Warehouse Operations Management
- Oversee warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, replenishment, order picking, and shipping
- Ensure efficient workflow and proper labor allocation to meet productivity and throughput targets
- Monitor daily operations to ensure timely movement of product and minimize bottlenecks
- Support the execution of operational plans to meet service level and performance expectations
Team Leadership & Development

Inventory Control & Accuracy
- Support inventory management processes including cycle counts, audits, and discrepancy resolution
- Ensure accurate product handling, storage, and system transactions within the WMS
- Identify and resolve inventory variances, damages, and process gaps
- Partner with leadership to improve inventory accuracy and reduce shrink
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing OSHA standards and company safety protocols
- Conduct regular safety checks and ensure proper equipment usage (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Ensure compliance with all warehouse operational and safety guideli
nesOperational Performance & Analytics
- Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, order accuracy, and labor efficiency
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, reduce costs, and increase throughput
- Support reporting on shift performance, labor utilization, and operational metrics
- Assist in implementing process improvements and standard operating procedures
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with receiving, inventory control, and transportation teams to ensure smooth operations
- Communicate effectively with first shift leadership to ensure continuity between shifts
- Partner with maintenance and facilities teams to address equipment or operational issues
