Automation Control Engineer

Qualifications:

• BSEE or equivalent. 10+ years of experience in an industrial automation environment, high volume manufacturing environment
• Rockwell Automation – Allen Bradley PLC, RS Logix, FactoryTalk, SCADA (from Ignition), Vision systems (Cognex), AutoCAD (Electrical)
• Strong hands-on experience in PLC and HMI programming and troubleshooting (Rockwell RS Logix-5000, FactoryTalk), communication protocols (DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, IO-Link, OPC UA etc.).
• Hands-on experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment, Fanuc Robots, VFDs and servo controllers, servo controls, and various standard and safety IO modules
• Strong background in software validation processes, equipment qualification, and generating detailed documentation for ancillary systems (PLC, HMIs, Motion Controllers etc.) and testing results.
• Experience integrating control panels, including PLCs, I/O, power supplies, safety relays, drives, and network components.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as a technical expert for Automation Controls design reviews, and when necessary, foster the utilization of new technologies to build reliable high-volume equipment. Provide assistance to engineers that upgrade, support, and troubleshoot existing systems in production. Improve software validation process, equipment validation Protocols, support systems installation.
• Design custom automation equipment & develop programs for PLC based control systems, HMIs, SCADA, Vision Systems, use and design Machine Learning algorithms and all required ancillary controllers.
• Serve as an interdepartmental connection to interpret/obtain customers’ needs to improve processes and equipment efficiency.
• Specify system components and suppliers.
