Role: Chief of Staff to the Founder & CEO

Location: San Francisco, CA (onsite)

Salary: $180,000-$225,000 + equity

About the Company

Our client is a Seed Stage AI FinTech start-up that is building training environments for AI agents and models for financial services verticals, but partner with major customers such as Anthropic and OpenAI. They currently specialize across Investment Banking, Private Equity, and Hedge Funds capabilities, but will soon be expanding into other areas such as Insurance, Consulting, and Accounting, etc.

The Role

They are looking for a Chief of Staff to directly support their Co-Founders (CEO & CTO).

They are doubling in run rate almost ever month, in process of closing their Series A funding, and are rapidly scaling. Due to the rapid growth and scaling, they are needing to bring on a Chief of Staff to support high priority needs across the business and drive strategic internal business solutions across the organization.

What You’ll Do

The Chief of Staff will

• Manage company financials, P&L, costs, margins, and running weekly syncs on business performance
• Build the internal operating systems and process from scratch as you will be the first person in this function
• Own and drive the hiring process as the company quick scales, more than doubling in size over the next 6-8 months
• Work cross-functionally across the business including engineering, research, and customer facing teams to resolve bottlenecks and ensure the successful progression of priorities such as:
• Customer expansion, vertical expansion, new research topics, etc
• Pivot across strategic needs throughout the company that are currently Co-Founder led
• Have the potential to own a business line in the future as the company continues to grow

What They’re Looking For

They’re looking for someone who

• 3-8 years of operating experience (Chief of Staff, BizOps, Strategy, etc.) preferably at an early-stage startup, or Management Consulting experience
• Experience owning cross-functional initiatives end-to-end (not just the strategy)
• Strong problem solver that can take ambiguous problems and drive them to completion autonomously (this is a small team that is very early stage)
• Proven success and growth in a business - commitment and progression in a business preferred over short stints
• Desire to be full-time in person in San Francisco - they can support relocation

Nice to have

• Experience building process from scratch preferably in a high growth and fast-paced environment
• Practical experience using coding agents to solve operational challenges (not just familiar with AI tools)
• Experience at an AI/ML company or financial services (IB, PE, HF)
