Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled CMM Programmer to join our quality engineering team in San Diego, CA. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and executing precision inspection programs to support the manufacturing of critical gas turbine and aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities

• CMM Programming: Develop, edit, and optimize offline/online CMM programs utilizing QUINDOS software (experience with PC-DMIS, Calypso, or MCOSMOS is a plus).
• Component Inspection: Perform high-precision dimensional inspections on complex aerospace components, including turbine blades, vanes, rotors, stators, casings, and structural parts.
• Blueprint & CAD Analysis: Interpret complex 2D engineering drawings, 3D CAD models, and advanced GD&T (ASME Y14.5) specifications.
• First Article Inspection: Lead and execute First Article Inspections (FAI) in full accordance with AS9102 standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to identify root causes and troubleshoot dimensional discrepancies.
• Quality & Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with AS9100, ISO, and customer-specific aerospace QMS requirements.
• Reporting & Maintenance: Analyze measurement data, generate comprehensive inspection reports, and oversee routine calibration and maintenance schedules for CMM equipment.
• Continuous Improvement: Support initiatives to optimize inspection efficiency, reduce cycle times, and improve measurement repeatability.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or equivalent practical hands-on experience.
• Experience: 3+ years of direct experience as a CMM Programmer within the aerospace or gas turbine manufacturing industry.
• Software: Proven, hands-on experience using QUINDOS; proficiency with PC-DMIS, Calypso, or MCOSMOS is highly preferred.
• Technical Mastery: Strong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and 3D CAD model interpretation.
• Materials & Inspection: Demonstrated capability inspecting tight-tolerance, complex geometries composed of superalloys, titanium, and composites.
• Industry Standards: Deep knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and AS9102 FAI process standards.
