CNC Set Up/Operator (Mazak Mills)

Title: CNC Machinist – Mazak Mills

Location: Itasca, IL

Job Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire

Pay: Up to $30/hour, based on experience

Shift: 1st Shift | Overtime Available

We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists with hands-on experience setting up and operating Mazak CNC machining centers. This is an immediate need for machinists who can confidently set up and operate CNC mills, make program edits at the machine, and perform quality checks using precision measurement tools.

Programming experience, particularly with Mazatrol, is a strong plus and may provide an opportunity to move into a direct-hire position.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate Mazak CNC mills and machining centers
• Set up and run production jobs according to drawings and specifications
• Edit CNC programs directly at the machine as needed
• Make offsets and adjustments to maintain part quality
• Perform basic CNC programming when qualified
• Use precision inspection equipment including micrometers, calipers, and other QC measurement tools
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and machining specifications
• Perform in-process quality checks and ensure parts meet specifications
• Troubleshoot machining and setup issues
• Maintain a clean and safe work area

• Mazak AJV
• Mazak V515 machining center
• Mazatrol controls
• Fanuc controls are a plus

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience setting up and operating CNC mills
• Mazak CNC experience is required
• Ability to edit CNC programs at the machine
• Experience using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measurement tools
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/blueprints
• Mazatrol programming experience is highly preferred
• Fanuc programming/editing experience is a plus
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
