Construction Contracts Paralegal / Administrative Assistant
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Paralegal / Administrative Assistant to provide direct legal and administrative support to the General Counsel of a heavy civil construction company. The ideal candidate will have experience with construction contract review, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Paralegal
- Review, organize, and manage construction contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and related legal documents.
- Support contract negotiations and work with business development and operations teams to identify and address contractual issues.
- Manage contract and legal document lifecycles, including tracking revisions, approvals, execution, and renewals.
- Conduct legal and factual research as needed.
- Review, draft, and edit legal documents and correspondence under the direction of the General Counsel.
- Assist with outside counsel, litigation, claims, and subpoena responses.
- Gather and organize documents and information for legal matters.
- Maintain organized legal files and records.
Administrative
- Prepare correspondence, emails, and corporate documents.
- Manage calendars, meetings, conference calls, and appointments.
- Track deadlines and follow-up items.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Provide general administrative support to the General Counsel.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree, or Paralegal Certificate required.
- 3–5 years of paralegal experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Experience reviewing construction contracts is preferred.
- Experience with heavy civil construction contracts, subcontracts, or project-related agreements is a plus.
- Notary Public preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills required.
- Contract management experience required; CLM and/or AI contract review experience is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, proofreading, editing, and organizational skills.
- Strong legal research, analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage competing priorities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000 - $95,000 per year
