About the Company
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee the field execution of renewable energy and supporting infrastructure projects. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities, contractors, schedules, safety, quality, and project coordination from mobilization through completion.
About the Role
The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction leader who can effectively manage multiple contractors and workstreams, identify field issues before they impact the schedule, and maintain strong communication between field personnel, project management, engineering, and ownership.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day construction activities for renewable energy and infrastructure projects
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel, and project stakeholders
- Oversee project schedules, milestones, manpower, equipment, and construction sequencing
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications
- Lead field coordination meetings and communicate project status, priorities, risks, and schedule impacts
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and construction documents to support field execution
- Coordinate with Engineering and Project Management to resolve RFIs, design conflicts, constructability issues, and field changes
- Monitor project progress against schedule and proactively address delays or resource constraints
- Maintain strong oversight of safety programs, contractor compliance, and site-specific requirements
- Support QA/QC activities, inspections, punch lists, commissioning preparation, and project closeout
- Coordinate site logistics, material deliveries, equipment movement, access, staging, and contractor activities
- Review contractor progress and support validation of completed work
- Maintain accurate field documentation, daily reports, progress updates, and construction records
- Identify opportunities to improve constructability, productivity, cost, and project execution
- Build productive relationships with contractors, engineering teams, operations personnel, and project leadership
Qualifications
- 7+ years of progressive construction experience, preferably within renewable energy, power generation, industrial construction, utilities, or other large-scale infrastructure environments
- Demonstrated experience managing contractors and construction activities in the field
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, safety, quality, and field coordination
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation
- Experience coordinating civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and/or utility scopes
- Strong knowledge of construction safety practices and contractor management
- Experience with renewable energy projects such as solar, battery energy storage (BESS), geothermal, wind, or related power infrastructure is highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make timely field decisions
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Comfortable working in an active construction environment and spending significant time in the field
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related discipline preferred; equivalent field experience will be considered
Ideal Background
The strongest candidate will have experience overseeing complex industrial or energy construction where multiple disciplines and contractors are operating simultaneously. This individual should be comfortable taking ownership of field execution, holding contractors accountable, working through changing project conditions, and ensuring construction progresses safely and according to schedule.
