This is an outstanding opportunity for a hands-on construction accounting leader who wants more than just another Controller role. You’ll work directly with ownership, have a voice in key business decisions, and help shape the financial future of a successful and growing organization.

Even better—the current Controller is retiring after a successful tenure and will remain available to support training, knowledge transfer, and a smooth transition into the role.

Responsibilities:

• Lead accounting and financial operations, including GL, AP, AR, payroll, cash management, and financial reporting
• Oversee construction job costing, WIP reporting, billing, and revenue recognition
• Manage union payroll and related compliance requirements
• Partner with project managers and operations to analyze project performance and profitability
• Strengthen accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting
• Help lead the company’s planned transition from American Contractor to Sage
• Serve as a trusted financial partner to ownership and company leadership

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• 8+ years of accounting leadership experience within the construction industry
• Significant experience in a union construction environment
• Strong expertise in job costing, WIP schedules, construction billing, and revenue recognition
• Advanced Excel skills
• A hands-on, collaborative leadership style with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
