Cost Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Cost Accountant in a hybrid role that will be responsible for analyzing manufacturing and inventory costs, maintaining cost accounting records, supporting month-end close activities, and providing financial insights to operational leadership. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment, and a passion for improving processes and driving business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and analyze standard costs, product costing, and inventory valuations.
• Monitor inventory transactions and reconcile inventory-related accounts.
• Prepare and analyze inventory reserves, cost variances, and manufacturing performance metrics.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning related to cost of goods sold and inventory.
• Partner with operations, procurement, and supply chain teams to identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements.
• Analyze labor, material, overhead, and production variances and provide actionable recommendations.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, with cost accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, or industrial environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
• Proficiency with Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.

Compensation:

$80,000-$90,000

Benefit offerings for full-time employment include medical, dental, vision

PTO is offered on an accrual basis
