We are partnering with a major financial services organization looking to appoint a Senior Data Governance Engineer to support the development and optimization of its enterprise data governance platform.

This position combines governance expertise with strong technical implementation skills and will suit someone who enjoys building integrations, managing metadata platforms, and enabling trusted data across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Administering and enhancing enterprise data catalogue platforms and governance tooling
• Developing integrations and technical solutions that support metadata management and governance processes
• Implementing and maintaining data lineage across modern data platforms and reporting environments
• Configuring metadata structures, stewardship workflows, and governance controls
• Supporting data classification, metadata enrichment, and governance automation initiatives
• Working closely with governance teams, engineers, and business stakeholders to improve data visibility and ownership
• Delivering user enablement activities and driving adoption of governance capabilities
• Contributing to Agile delivery practices and governance platform enhancements

Required Experience

• Proven experience within Data Governance Engineering, Metadata Management, Data Management, or related disciplines
• Strong knowledge of data governance principles, metadata management, and lineage concepts
• Hands-on experience with enterprise cataloguing platforms such as Atlan, Unity Catalog, Collibra, Alation, or equivalent
• Experience designing integrations and supporting governance platform operations
• Understanding of SQL and data modelling concepts
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Databricks, dbt, cloud data platforms, and modern analytics ecosystems
• Exposure to governance automation, workflow tooling, and API integrations
• Knowledge of data quality monitoring and observability tools
• Experience supporting enterprise-scale data transformation programmes
