About Us

Galapagos Charter School prepares scholars for success in college and beyond through a rigorous academic program, a joyful learning environment, and a strong focus on character. We are seeking a Dean of School Culture to join our leadership team and help create a safe, structured, joyful school community in which every scholar can thrive.

The Role

The Dean of School Culture is a mission-critical leader who:

• Leads the development and implementation of schoolwide culture, behavior, and character systems.
• Maintains a visible presence throughout the school day and responds effectively to scholar behavioral and social-emotional needs.
• Coaches teachers and staff in establishing strong classroom culture, reinforcing expectations, and responding consistently to behavior.
• Uses behavior, attendance, and school culture data to identify trends, monitor progress, and develop responsive interventions.
• Partners with scholars, families, and staff to address concerns, repair harm, and build trusting relationships.
• Oversees disciplinary processes and documentation while ensuring compliance with school policies and legal requirements.
• Collaborates with school leaders and support staff to develop individualized plans for scholars requiring additional behavioral or social-emotional support.
• Plans and leads schoolwide celebrations, incentives, and traditions that strengthen belonging, joy, and scholar achievement.

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience working with children in a school, youth development, counseling, or related setting.
• Demonstrated success leading others and building a positive, achievement-oriented culture.
• Strong relationship-building, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to remain calm, consistent, and solution-focused in challenging situations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• A deep belief in the potential of every scholar and a commitment to the mission and values of Galapagos Charter School.
