Design Technologist

Our client, a leader in FinTech, is looking to hire a Design Technologist. This is a hybrid role that will be onsite 3x per week in San Diego, CA.

As a Design Technologist, you will build scalable & interactive technical product prototypes as part of a UI modernization effort across a suite of FinTech products.

What You Will Be Doing

• Build and maintain scalable prototyping frameworks, including repository structure, branching strategies, versioning, and contribution workflows
• Lead the technical implementation of UI modernization initiatives, developing efficient design-to-code handoff processes across multiple products
• Define design system standards, component usage guidelines, and implementation patterns to drive consistency and enable faster deployment of user-facing features
• Partner closely with Product Design, Engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to accelerate delivery timelines

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Front-End Engineering, Design Technology Development, or related field
• Experience owning and managing repositories end-to-end, including version control, contribution models, branching strategies, and CI/CD practices
• Hands-on experience with design system technologies and tooling
• Experience with Figma, design tokens, Code Connect, or similar design-development integration tools

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, UX Design, Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
• Prior experience in SaaS, FinTech, Financial Services, Banking, or related industries highly valued!
