A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced attorney to join its Markets Legal team as a Director-level Legal Counsel focused on Equity Derivatives. This is a high-impact opportunity to advise a sophisticated trading business at the forefront of equity-linked products, structured solutions, and institutional markets activity.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and transactional support to equity derivatives trading, structuring, and sales teams.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a broad range of equity derivatives documentation, including ISDA documentation, confirmations, and structured product agreements.
• Advise on legal and regulatory developments impacting equity-linked products and trading activities.
• Partner closely with front office, risk, compliance, operations, and senior management on strategic initiatives and new product launches.
• Assess legal, regulatory, and reputational risks associated with complex transactions.
• Support cross-border transactions and collaborate with legal colleagues across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission.
• Approximately 6+ years of relevant legal experience gained at a top law firm and/or major financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of equity derivatives, structured products, and capital markets transactions.
• Experience negotiating ISDA Master Agreements, equity-linked confirmations, and related derivatives documentation.
• Familiarity with U.S. securities laws, regulatory frameworks, and market infrastructure applicable to derivatives businesses.
• Strong commercial judgment, stakeholder management skills, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced markets environment.
