Director of Preconstruction & Business Development

Location: Ripon, CA - Onsite

Salary: $150K–$170K + up to 15% bonus plus benefits

Direct Hire/ full time

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead preconstruction, estimating, and business development strategies to drive profitable growth.
• Manage, mentor, and oversee the Estimating Department and bid pipeline.
• Lead Go/No-Go decisions, bid assignments, estimate reviews, and proposal submissions.
• Build and maintain customer and industry relationships and support market expansion.
• Ensure smooth bid-to-project handoffs between Estimating, Operations, Procurement, and Accounting.
• Lead major material buyouts, supplier negotiations, and procurement strategies.
• Drive process improvements and technology adoption using OST, Procore, CRM, and Microsoft Office.
• Partner with executive leadership on workload forecasting, market strategy, staffing, and profitability.
• Support project closeouts, retention, warranty administration, and lessons learned.

Requirements:

• 8+ years construction experience, including 4+ years in leadership/management.
• Strong expertise in estimating, preconstruction, procurement/material buyouts, risk management, and project execution.
• Hands-on OST and Procore experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, business development, and financial acumen.
• Ability to balance revenue growth, operational capacity, and project margins.
