Role & Responsibilities:

  • Strategic oversight, long-term planning, and departmental performance.
  • Workflow optimization, carrier allocation strategy, vendor relations, and technology adoption.
  • Establishes KPIs, safety protocols, and SOP compliance.
  • Handles macro vendor/carrier disputes, departmental budgets, and cross-functional alignment.
  • Mentors and evaluates supervisors and manages team of dispatches; handles overall staffing strategy and hiring.
  • Direct contact with Key Customers.
  • Escalation point for Security and Stakeholders (internal and external).
  • Monitor appointment stability metrics for receivers and escalate any receiver issues to Key Account Management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate cost accrual, invoice processing and billing to customer.
  • Report and monitor shipments irregularities in SEMS (Shipment Exemption Management System).
  • Drive cost reductions by improving truck utilization and route optimization (consolidation)
  • Point of contact for all escalation delivery problems for truckers and finding resolutions.
  • Work closely with Domestic Transportation Team on trucking service procurement, carrier QBR and domestic trucking RFQs and ad hoc pricing request.
  • Form strong partnerships with carriers, monitor and record carrier performance (Scorecard) and adherence to MEC pick up, in-transit and delivery procedures.
  • Work closely with security on enhancing load security.
  • Coordinate escorts for high value shipments.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in domestic transportation and/or domestic supply chain management.
  • Experience with high value, Hot Shot Delivery Trucks.
  • Knowledge and proven experience with planning and optimization.
  • Previous experience successfully managing a team of five or more people.
  • Proven experience with coordinating escorts for high value shipments.
  • Experience handling high volume cross dock shipments coming through the warehouse.
  • Must have experience and knowledge of international transport (air import).
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment, while exercising sound judgement.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve complex problems.
  • Must be a confident self-starter who can develop effective business relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated, customer service oriented, and eager to ensure the success of the team.
  • Ability to function independently, with minimal supervision, and thrive within a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent computer knowledge, advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
