We are seeking an experienced EDA Infrastructure & HPC Operations Engineer to manage and support the engineering compute infrastructure and EDA application environments used by our semiconductor and R&D teams.

This role is responsible for the deployment, administration, monitoring, and operational support of HPC clusters, EDA tools, license servers, Linux systems, and user access environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Linux administration, EDA infrastructure, automation, and high-performance computing environments.


Key Responsibilities

EDA Application Environment Management

  • Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain engineering and EDA applications.
  • Manage software version trees, environment modules, and application dependencies.
  • Execute qualification and validation testing for new tool releases and document results.
  • Ensure stable and production-ready engineering tool environments.

EDA Tool Deployment & Support

  • Install, patch, and maintain industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Build and support new engineering environments requested by design teams.
  • Troubleshoot tool installation, configuration, and runtime issues.
  • Provide technical support to design, verification, and physical design teams.

License Server Administration

  • Manage and monitor FlexLM/FlexNet and other engineering license management platforms.
  • Troubleshoot licensing issues and user access challenges.
  • Generate utilization, compliance, and idle-license reports.
  • Optimize license allocation and usage across engineering teams.

HPC Cluster Operations

  • Monitor cluster performance, resource utilization, and scheduler health.
  • Support job schedulers such as LSF, SLURM, Grid Engine, or equivalent platforms.
  • Investigate and resolve failed, stalled, or pending jobs.
  • Implement queue management policies and resource optimization strategies.
  • Produce utilization and performance reports for engineering leadership.

User Environment Support

  • Deploy, maintain, and support remote desktop and Linux access environments.
  • Resolve user access, authentication, and session-related issues.
  • Ensure a seamless and productive engineering user experience.

R&D Software Asset Management

  • Manage software assets, license inventories, renewals, and compliance tracking.
  • Support software procurement and onboarding activities.
  • Drive software consolidation and standardization initiatives based on utilization metrics.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to optimize software investments.

Linux Administration & Automation

  • Provision, patch, and maintain Linux servers supporting engineering workloads.
  • Troubleshoot storage, filesystem, network, and system performance issues.
  • Develop scripts and automation tools to streamline operational activities, reporting, and monitoring.
  • Improve infrastructure reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in:
  • HPC Infrastructure Administration
  • EDA / Semiconductor IT Infrastructure
  • Linux System Administration
  • Experience managing EDA environments used in semiconductor design organizations.
  • Working knowledge of:
  • Job Schedulers (LSF, SLURM, Grid Engine, PBS, or equivalent)
  • License Management Systems (FlexLM/FlexNet)
  • Linux-based engineering application environments
  • Experience supporting Synopsys, Cadence, Siemens EDA (Mentor Graphics), or similar tool ecosystems.
  • Familiarity with NFS, NAS, distributed storage, and HPC environments.
  • Exposure to semiconductor design workflows including RTL Design, Verification, Physical Design, and DFT.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools.
