Role Description The Estimator role at Drain Mob is a full-time, on-site position based in San Marcos, CA. The Estimator is responsible for reviewing job requests, conducting site visits, and analyzing project requirements for drain cleaning and trenchless sewer repair services. Day-to-day tasks include evaluating camera inspection reports, interpreting drawings and technical specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and creating clear, itemized proposals for customers. The Estimator collaborates with field technicians and office staff to ensure estimates align with operational capabilities and timelines, while updating estimates as conditions or scopes change. This role also involves communicating with customers to explain recommendations, answering questions about pricing and services, and maintaining detailed records of estimates in company systems.

Qualifications

  • Estimating and analytical skills, including the ability to interpret technical data, job scopes, and project requirements for drain and sewer work.
  • Knowledge of plumbing, drain cleaning, trenchless sewer repair, and related field operations, with an understanding of hydro-jetting, camera inspections, and CIPP lining.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain estimates clearly and build trust with clients and team members.
  • Organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail, accurate documentation, and the ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines.
  • Basic proficiency with computers and estimating tools (e.g., spreadsheets, job management or CRM software) and comfort working with digital reports and photos.
  • Ability to work on-site in San Marcos, CA, conduct field visits as needed, and adhere to safety standards in both office and jobsite environments.
  • Previous experience in estimating, plumbing, construction, or a related trade is highly beneficial.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications in plumbing, construction, or estimating are a plus.

Compensation:

  • Base hourly wage plus commission/bonus opportunities.
