Event Sales Manager

Parched Hospitality Group

New York, NY

Full job description

At Parched Hospitality Group, we don’t just operate restaurants and bars—we build experiences. From all-day café concepts to rooftop cocktail destinations, our portfolio is defined by quality, innovation, and a strong sense of place.

With 13 locations across the East Coast, primarily based in NYC, our mission is simple: we believe in putting people first — our team, our guests, and our community. We strive to create a friendly and laid-back environment, reflecting the spirit of Australian hospitality, where everyone is welcomed with a smile and treated with genuine care and respect.

We are continuing to build out our centralized Events team and are looking for a highly motivated, commercially driven Event Sales Manager to help maximize private event revenue across our growing portfolio of NYC restaurants, bars, lounges, and rooftops.

This role is first and foremost a sales role. We are looking for someone who loves the hunt, moves quickly, follows up relentlessly, understands how to turn an inquiry into a booking, and is motivated by closing as much business as possible.

You will work alongside our Senior Events Director and Events Manager to manage incoming leads, build client relationships, create proposals, sell the right venue and package, upsell wherever possible, and turn opportunities into confirmed events.

Our group currently generates approximately $2 million annually in event sales, and with more venues and event spaces than ever before, we believe there is significant opportunity to grow that number.

Core Responsibilities

Event Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Own incoming private event inquiries from initial contact through booking
  • Respond to leads quickly, professionally, and with a strong sense of urgency
  • Understand each client’s needs, budget, guest count, timing, and event style
  • Recommend the best PHG venue — even when the originally requested space is unavailable or not the right fit
  • Create compelling proposals and event packages
  • Negotiate and close event business
  • Follow up consistently with open leads until opportunities are booked or formally closed
  • Upsell food, beverage, add-ons, enhancements, and other opportunities that increase event value
  • Cross-sell PHG venues to keep event business within the group whenever possible
  • Identify opportunities for buyouts, corporate accounts, holiday events, repeat programs, and recurring business
  • Build relationships with corporate clients, event planners, hotels, concierges, local businesses, and referral partners

Lead Management & Tripleseat

Tripleseat is at the center of this role.

The Event Sales Manager is expected to be highly proficient in Tripleseat and use it consistently to manage the entire sales process, including:

  • Incoming leads and client communication
  • Lead statuses, next steps, and follow-up activity
  • Proposals, contracts, BEOs, and event documentation
  • Bookings, lost business, and outstanding opportunities
  • Maintaining a clean, accurate, up-to-date pipeline

We are looking for someone who treats Tripleseat as their daily sales command center — not simply an administrative tool.

Follow-Up & Conversion

Great event salespeople do not simply respond to inquiries. They close them.

You will be expected to:

  • Re-engage clients who have gone quiet
  • Ask for the business and move clients toward a decision
  • Identify why opportunities are stalling and determine how to move them forward
  • Maintain strong response-time standards
  • Prevent qualified opportunities from being lost due to lack of follow-up
  • Continuously look for ways to improve conversion

Venue Knowledge & Restaurant Operations

Our event spaces are not interchangeable. Each PHG venue has a different layout, atmosphere, capacity, service style, kitchen setup, bar operation, and operational flow.

The Event Sales Manager must develop a strong understanding of:

  • Venue capacities, layouts, and private/semi-private spaces
  • Full and partial buyout opportunities
  • Seating and standing configurations
  • Food and beverage offerings, minimum spends, and pricing
  • Kitchen, bar, and service capabilities
  • Operational limitations and guest flow

You need to understand restaurant operations well enough to confidently sell an event that the venue can execute successfully.

Event Planning & Client Management

Once an event is booked, you will remain involved through execution. Responsibilities include:

  • Serving as the primary client contact for your booked events
  • Confirming final menus, timelines, guest counts, layouts, and event details
  • Preparing accurate BEOs and communicating details clearly to venue teams
  • Coordinating with GMs, chefs, bar teams, and operations
  • Conducting site visits and walkthroughs when needed
  • Ensuring what was sold is accurately communicated and operationally executable

Event-Day Presence

This is not a fully desk-based sales position. The Event Sales Manager will be expected to be present for events when appropriate, particularly larger or more complex bookings.

You will help welcome the client, ensure the event starts smoothly, troubleshoot issues as needed, and protect the relationship between what was sold and the actual guest experience.

Repeat Business & Relationship Development

A successful event should not be a one-time transaction. You will be expected to:

  • Follow up after events
  • Build long-term client relationships
  • Identify repeat booking opportunities
  • Develop corporate and planner accounts
  • Turn successful events into future business and referrals

What Good Looks Like

  • Leads are responded to quickly and followed up on relentlessly
  • Conversion rates and event revenue grow
  • Clients are consistently offered the best PHG venue for their needs
  • Cross-selling and upselling become second nature
  • Tripleseat is clean, accurate, and current
  • Repeat business grows
  • Venue teams receive clear, accurate event information
  • Qualified leads do not fall through the cracks

Who You Are

  • A proven hospitality event salesperson who genuinely enjoys selling
  • Competitive, motivated, and energized by closing business
  • Comfortable working toward aggressive revenue goals
  • Responsive, organized, persistent, and confident asking for the business
  • Naturally inclined to upsell and maximize opportunities
  • Able to manage a high volume of inquiries and competing priorities
  • Strong at building relationships and creating repeat business
  • Comfortable selling across multiple venues
  • Operationally savvy enough to understand how restaurants, bars, and event spaces function
  • Detail-oriented and comfortable being present at events and interacting directly with clients
  • Someone who takes ownership and does not allow opportunities to fall through the cracks

Candidate Profile

  • 4+ years of experience in hospitality event sales, catering sales, private dining sales, or a similar revenue-generating role
  • Proven experience selling and closing private events
  • Strong understanding of restaurant and hospitality operations
  • Experience managing the full sales cycle from inquiry through contract and event execution
  • Strong proposal, negotiation, follow-up, and client-management skills
  • Experience with BEOs, event packages, minimum spends, and event logistics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Comfortable working evenings or attending events when business needs require

Strongly Preferred:

  • Advanced proficiency with Tripleseat
  • Multi-venue restaurant or hospitality group experience
  • NYC restaurant, rooftop, nightlife, hotel, or private dining sales experience
  • Experience selling corporate events, buyouts, cocktail receptions, holiday parties, social events, and brand activations
  • Existing relationships with NYC corporate clients, planners, hotels, concierges, or event professionals

Compensation + Benefits

  • Base Salary: $80,000
  • Uncapped commission on events booked
  • Company-sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance plans
  • 401(k)
  • 3 weeks of Paid Time Off (accrues as you work)
  • Dining discounts across Parched Hospitality Group venues

For the right salesperson, the earning potential in this role is significant. With a growing portfolio of event spaces and approximately $2 million in existing annual event sales, this is an opportunity to step into an established business with considerable room for growth.
