Our client, a Japanese Logistics company is seeking an Export Opration Specialist (Mid level ~ Manager level) in their NY office.

Location: Nassau County, NY

Salary: 55-80k base + benefit packages

Key Responsibilities

• Manage export shipments (air/ocean), including booking, documentation, and scheduling
• Ensure compliance with export regulations and country requirements
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
• Prepare and review shipping documents, billing, and invoices
• Monitor shipments and resolve issues to maintain service quality
• Support pricing, carrier selection, and cost optimization
• Build relationships with clients and logistics partners
• Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency
• Support team workflow and assist junior members
• Handle escalations and contribute to operational improvements

Qualifications

• 3–8+ years of experience in export or freight forwarding
• Knowledge of export documentation and regulations
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in both air and ocean exports
• Exposure to pricing or carrier negotiation
• Japanese skill is a big plus
