Fiewall/Security Engineer - Bay Area Only

For our Detroyt based client we require a Firewall/Security Engineer to work onsire in San Jose, CA

Only candidates in the San Fransciso Bay area will be considered.

Role: Firewall/Security Engineer

Job Responsibilities:

-Design, implement, and support firewall security controls to protect enterprise networks, applications, and data across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments

-Configure, maintain, and optimize firewall policies, rule sets, NAT, VPNs, access controls, and threat prevention settings to enforce security requirements and connectivity standards

-Translate security architecture and network requirements into firewall deployment, segmentation, and rule implementation activities aligned to approved designs

-Coordinate with network, cloud, application, infrastructure, and security teams to validate traffic flows, service dependencies, and implementation readiness for rule changes and policy updates

-Perform firewall testing, change validation, and troubleshooting to confirm policy effectiveness, connectivity accuracy, and minimal business disruption

-Maintain firewall documentation, rule recertification evidence, change records, and operational handoff materials to support governance, auditability, and supportability

-Support incident response and vulnerability remediation efforts by analyzing firewall logs, reviewing traffic patterns, and implementing protective control updates when required
