Financial Advisor – Lead Planner / Service Advisor

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Financial Advisor / Lead Planner / Service Advisor to join an established wealth management and financial planning firm serving the Buffalo Grove and Chicago, IL area.
This is primarily a non-sales financial planning and client service role, focused on developing comprehensive financial and retirement plans, analyzing investment and tax strategies, and building long-term relationships with assigned clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients within the Holistic Wealth Management division.
- Manage client needs, questions, requests, and account updates.
- Prepare comprehensive financial planning recommendations.
- Develop and monitor retirement income plans and retirement plan tracking.
- Prepare investment portfolio summaries and asset allocation analyses.
- Meet regularly with clients and build strong, trusted relationships.
- Prepare and analyze financial planning reports and recommendations.
- Utilize tax planning software to evaluate client tax situations and strategies.
- Review and compare illustrations for annuities, life insurance, and long-term care (LTC).
- Complete one-off financial planning analyses and special client requests.
- Conduct regular client reviews based on assigned service models.
- Proactively communicate with clients throughout the year to identify and address their needs.
- Collaborate with Lead Advisors and other team members on client cases.
- Identify opportunities involving additional assets and cross-selling of appropriate services to existing clients.
- Utilize proprietary financial planning software for data input, analysis, and development of comprehensive retirement plans.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of direct client-facing experience as a Financial Planner required.
- Series 65 or Series 66 required.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Strong knowledge of financial and retirement planning.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and comfort working with spreadsheets and financial analysis.
- Highly detail-oriented with strong accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Friendly, professional, attentive, and client-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications
- CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation preferred.
- CFP® designation must be obtained within 2 years of hire if not already held.
- Life Insurance License preferred; must be obtained within 6 months of hire if not already held.
- Strong interest in investment, retirement, tax, and holistic financial planning.
