Financial Controller

We are partnering with a fast-growing, national property management company to hire a Controller who will own accounting for a large and active real estate portfolio. This is a fully remote seat working PST hours, built for someone who has lived in property accounting and knows how to run a clean close across multiple entities. As the portfolio scales, you are the person who keeps the numbers accurate, the processes tight, and the reporting reliable enough to actually drive decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting across a portfolio of properties, including month-end close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Prepare and review property-level and consolidated financial statements
• Manage the general ledger and maintain accuracy across multiple entities
• Oversee AP, AR, and bank reconciliations
• Handle accruals, CAM reconciliations, and property-level variance analysis
• Partner with operations and asset management to explain results and support budgeting
• Support annual budgets, forecasts, and audit prep
• Improve accounting workflows and reporting cadence as the portfolio grows

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience with a strong property accounting background
• Full-cycle close and multi-entity experience
• Solid grasp of real estate and property-level financials
• Experience with Yardi or RealPage is a nice to have
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working across large data sets
• Self-directed and able to thrive in a fully remote setup
