About Soul Soirée
Soul Soirée is a live entertainment brand built to elevate Black voices and bring community together through art and storytelling. Our signature event, The Monologue Slam, is the largest recurring performing arts event for the BIPOC arts community in NYC — a high-energy theatrical experience featuring original and published works before a live audience of 750+.
About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented, visually-minded Graphic Design Intern to help shape Soul Soirée's brand across digital and live event spaces. You'll design everything from social media templates to event materials, working closely with our creative team to bring campaigns to life — while building a real, published portfolio.
Responsibilities
- Design social media graphics, carousels, and promotional assets
- Support creation of event materials — flyers, timeline graphics, sponsor decks
- Maintain visual consistency across Soul Soirée's brand identity
- Collaborate with the social media and marketing teams on campaign visuals
- Assist with light photo/video editing as needed
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva
- Strong eye for typography, color, and layout
- Portfolio or work samples demonstrating design experience
- Ability to take feedback and iterate quickly under deadline
Internship Details
- Duration: 3 months, with potential to transition into paid contract work
- Hours: 8–10 hours/week
- Compensation: Unpaid, with a stipend provided through our November Monologue Slam event
- Past Soul Soirée interns have gone on to full-time roles elsewhere in the industry, building directly on the work and portfolio they developed here
