About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Healthcare Referral Development Representative – Field Sales to expand access to behavioral healthcare services across the Chicago market. This role will focus on building and maintaining strong relationships with healthcare providers, medical practices, hospitals, clinics, and community organizations to develop new referral opportunities.
The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven healthcare sales professional who enjoys working in the field, meeting providers in person, developing referral partnerships, and generating new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with physicians, psychiatrists, therapists, medical practices, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare referral sources.
- Conduct regular in-person visits to healthcare providers and community partners throughout the assigned Chicago territory.
- Identify and develop new healthcare referral opportunities through prospecting, networking, and field outreach.
- Schedule and conduct presentations, meetings, Lunch & Learns, and educational sessions with potential referral partners.
- Promote behavioral health, mental health, psychiatric, and therapy services to healthcare professionals and community organizations.
- Build and maintain a strong referral pipeline and consistently follow up with prospective partners.
- Track outreach, meetings, referrals, and business development activity using CRM tools.
- Collaborate with internal clinical and operations teams to support successful onboarding of new referral partners.
- Monitor territory activity and provide regular updates on leads, meetings, referral relationships, and growth opportunities.
- Represent the organization at healthcare conferences, networking events, and community events.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of B2B healthcare sales, business development, referral development, or field sales experience required.
- Experience working with healthcare providers, physicians, clinics, hospitals, or medical practices strongly preferred.
- Behavioral health, mental health, psychiatry, therapy, healthcare services, or related industry experience preferred.
- Proven ability to develop new business through prospecting, relationship building, and in-person outreach.
- Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in a field-based environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple relationships and follow-ups.
- Comfortable using CRM systems to manage leads, contacts, and sales activity.
- Willingness to travel frequently throughout the Chicago-area territory.
- Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, communications, marketing, or a related field preferred.
Compensation
- $80,000–$120,000 base salary
