Position Summary

We are seeking an HR Generalist & Company Administrator to serve as the organization's dedicated, on-site HR resource while also supporting broader company administrative and compliance functions. This is a tactical, hands-on role for someone early- to mid-career who is ready to build and maintain HR infrastructure with guidance from company leadership.

The ideal candidate is a true generalist: comfortable owning day-to-day HR responsibilities and equally willing to take on adjacent administrative and compliance responsibilities, including OSHA, regulatory recordkeeping, and state agency filings.

This role reports to the General Manager, with access to HR leadership guidance as needed. It is best suited to someone building their HR and administrative career who is eager to take on responsibility and grow into greater ownership over time.

HR Generalist Responsibilities (≈70%)

Recruiting & Onboarding

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for open roles, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offer support
  • Rebuild and maintain in-house recruiting capability for standard/high-volume roles; coordinate staffing agency use for specialized or hard-to-fill positions
  • Own the new hire onboarding process end-to-end: background checks, I-9 processing, new hire paperwork, and system setup
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure a consistent, positive first-90-days experience

Employee Relations & Engagement

  • Serve as a day-to-day point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues
  • Support investigations and documentation for employee relations matters, escalating as appropriate
  • Help establish and maintain an employee feedback mechanism, such as surveys or pulse checks, and support follow-through on action items
  • Promote a positive workplace culture and act as a trusted resource for employees and managers alike

Compensation & Benefits

  • Support compensation analysis and market benchmarking for open and existing roles, with guidance from HR leadership
  • Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, changes, and employee questions
  • Help communicate total rewards information clearly and consistently to employees
  • Assist with the annual merit and review cycle, helping bring structure and consistency to compensation decisions

HR Operations, Compliance & Process

  • Manage offboarding and termination processing, including system updates and benefits/retirement plan transitions
  • Build and maintain documented SOPs for onboarding, offboarding, leave of absence (LOA), and performance management
  • Administer leaves of absence, including FMLA, state leave, and disability, in coordination with applicable vendors
  • Maintain accurate, compliant employee records and personnel files
  • Stay current on applicable employment law and ensure company policies and practices remain compliant
  • Support performance management processes, including documentation and manager guidance
  • Assist with basic leadership/manager training and development initiatives as programs are introduced
  • Begin building succession planning awareness for key roles in partnership with the General Manager

Company Administrator Responsibilities (≈30%)

In addition to HR duties, this role supports broader company compliance and administrative functions. Prior expertise in these areas is not required. We are looking for someone with the interest and aptitude to learn and grow into this scope.

Regulatory & Compliance Support

  • Support OSHA compliance efforts, including recordkeeping, safety documentation, and coordination on workplace safety programs
  • Assist with regulatory compliance activities, including maintaining required records, supporting access/security logs, and coordinating with compliance leads on applicable requirements
  • Support state agency compliance and filings, including business registrations, licensing renewals, and required state reporting
  • Maintain accurate compliance documentation and audit-ready files across these areas

General Administration

  • Assist with filing paperwork and maintaining company records with relevant government and regulatory agencies
  • Support maintenance of facility and security logs as required
  • Serve as a liaison to outside compliance advisors, brokers, or agencies as needed
  • Take on other administrative and compliance-adjacent projects as they arise; this role is expected to flex to support the broader needs of the business

Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator, or similar role
  • Prior exposure to administrative, compliance, or regulatory work is a plus, but not required; genuine interest and willingness to learn is essential
  • Working knowledge of applicable employment law or strong ability to learn quickly
  • Experience with an HRIS/PEO platform
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple, varied responsibilities
  • Excellent communication skills and sound judgment when handling sensitive/confidential information
  • Self-starter who is comfortable working with a degree of autonomy while building toward greater ownership
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
