Insurance Regulatory & Compliance Counsel — New York or Chicago

We're working on a search for an established, growing property & casualty insurance organization looking to add a Regulatory & Compliance Counsel to its legal team.

This is a newly created seat for a practical, business-minded attorney who can balance legal risk with commercial reality in a highly regulated industry. You'll advise on regulatory compliance, market conduct and other exams, insurance filings, and insurance-related transactions across admitted and surplus lines — no litigation involved.

What they're looking for:

🔹 5+ years as an attorney with a focus on insurance regulatory and compliance work (some flexibility for the right candidate)

🔹 P&C insurance experience, in admitted and surplus lines, is a must

🔹 In-house experience preferred, but strong law firm candidates will also be considered

🔹 Someone who genuinely cares about the work, works well on a team, and takes ownership

Location: New York, NY or Chicago, IL preferred (other U.S. locations also considered)

Compensation: $175,000–$225,000 base, plus target bonus
