Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory Planner to join our supply chain team. The Inventory Planner will utilize a holistic view of the company's materials, from mother plants to CPG, in developing effective inventory strategies for the Company's "Coastal Sun" product line.


In this role, you will be responsible for creating and managing inventory methodologies that optimize stock levels, reduce costs, and ensure seamless product availability across multiple customer channels. Your expertise in data analytics, demand planning, and supply chain management will drive efficiency and support our company's growth objectives. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and possesses strong cross-functional communication skills to collaborate effectively with procurement, logistics, and merchandising teams. This position reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer and Director of Supply Chain.


Responsibilities

  • Develop accurate demand forecasts using advanced data mining techniques, sales trends analysis, and inventory management software to inform procurement and growing decisions
  • Monitor warehouse distribution activities to ensure optimal inventory levels while minimizing excess stock and stockouts
  • Collaborate with Packaging & Processing teams to develop schedules that align with inventory goals
  • Conduct root cause analysis on inventory variances and develop strategies for process improvement to enhance overall supply chain efficiency
  • Perform financial analysis related to inventory costs, pricing strategies, and procurement budgets to support strategic decision-making
  • Responsible for forecasting inventory needs of retail partners through business cycles
  • Works with Marketing to provide necessary sale/inventory reporting and promotions
  • Assists Finance Department with Audits, Inventory Control & Reconciliations
  • Forecasts for future inventory based on historical buys, reoccurring buys and current inventory levels
  • Additional duties as may be required to effectively add value to the Company


Experience

  • Proven experience in warehouse distribution, logistics inventory management, or supply chain planning within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong background in data analytics, including proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel), data visualization tools (Power BI), and inventory management software
  • Working knowledge of California laws, regulations and rules related to cannabis
  • Knowledge of procurement practices, category management, sourcing strategies, and supplier management experience
  • Must be highly dependable, focused, organized and detailed-oriented possessing excellent time management and communication skills combined with strong analytical skills for financial modeling
  • Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency
  • Ability to communicate effectively across cross-functional teams including merchandising, fulfillment, production planning, and warehouse operations.


Education & Background Preferences

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other software programs needed to create forecasts.
  • 2-3 years in inventory control & planning with strong analytical skills
  • History of showing a keen ability to organize, prioritize, work independently, and meet deadlines.
