IT Support Technician -long term contract
Location : Austin TX OR Santa Clara California
Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused IT Support professional to provide hands-on desktop, laptop, and executive user support. The ideal candidate should have practical IT knowledge and strong communication skills to assist users with day-to-day technology needs, meeting room operations, and basic hardware/software troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide desktop and end-user IT support for laptops, monitors, printers, keyboards, and other peripherals.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot printers, monitors, keyboards, docking stations, and other IT equipment.
- Image, configure, and prepare new laptops for employee deployment.
- Provide first-level troubleshooting for common hardware, software, connectivity, and user-access issues.
- Support executive-level users, providing professional, patient, and responsive assistance.
- Assist and guide users with meeting room technology, including displays, conferencing equipment, audio/video systems, and connectivity.
- Provide hands-on support during meetings and help resolve technology issues quickly.
- Guide users through day-to-day IT activities and applications when required.
- Maintain basic IT asset and equipment records and follow established IT support procedures.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate IT teams while maintaining ownership and communication with the user.
Skills & Qualifications
- Working knowledge of desktop and end-user IT support.
- Hands-on experience with laptop imaging and hardware/peripheral setup.
- Ability to install and troubleshoot printers, monitors, keyboards, docking stations, and related devices.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Comfortable supporting senior executives and business users.
- Ability to explain technical issues in a simple, user-friendly manner.
- Strong troubleshooting, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional appearance, attitude, and ability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment.
